CORSTORPHINE AAC athletes secured a clutch of titles on an outstanding weekend of running.

Fiona Davies, Kirstin Maxwell, Josie-Wren Golder and Kirsty Macaulay claimed the women’s winners’ trophy at the Allan Scally Memorial Road Race relay. The quartet came home in a combined time of 1:12:28 – almost two minutes clear of second place.

There was double success in the men’s M40 with a first and third place for CAAC teams. Stuart Livingstone, Donald Macaulay, Doug McKinnon and Iain Hutchinson took the spoils in 1:03:53, finishing a full three minutes and 25 seconds clear thanks to Stuart (15:06) and Donald (15:42) clocking the two fastest M40 laps. Moray Anderson, Chris Poxton, Ally Brockie and Tom Ferrington claimed third place in 1:08:14.

There was also a podium finish for the men’s M50 team of Max Colligan, Alan Cunningham, Jeremy Rogers and Craig Campbell. They took second place in their category in a time of 1:12:35 at Glasgow Green.

It comes amid a stellar run of form that has seen Alice secure second place at the Scottish Schools Athletics Association Indoor T&F Championships over 800m and ninth in the U17 race at the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk.

Congratulations also to Jen Johnston, who claimed second place in the women’s V40 category at the Innocent Half Marathon on February 23. She crossed the line in 1:40:02 at Dalmeny Estate. At the same event, Iain Macdougall (1:31:55) was third in the men’s V40 race.

Well done to all of our athletes!
