AROUND 100 athletes took part in the club’s annual Track and Field Championships at Saughton.
Competitors from under-9 to Masters age groups showed their talents in events including the 60m, 100m, 800m, 1 mile, long jump, quoit throw, javelin and shot put.
Frame runners raced over 100m and 400m while also taking part in the long jump using one-leg push-offs and their frames for propulsion.
Meanwhile, members and spectators once again donated a raft of grocery items that co-captain Janet Grigor later dropped off at local foodbank Community One Stop Shop (COSS) Broomhouse. Hailing the gesture, COSS said: “It’s donations like these which mean we can keep offering our services to those who need them.”
