STUART Livingstone was crowned M40 Scottish 5k champion with a club record run at the Sri Chinmoy race at Silverknowes.

Stuart crossed the line in 15:07 to take the title – and coveted pineapple prize – on the fast, flat course on the Forth shoreline.

There was further Corstorphine success as the Senior men’s team took bronze thanks to strong showings from Tom Martyn, Ewan Brown and Angus Smith.

Tom came home 9th overall in 14:42, Ewan was 12th with a time of 14:49 and Angus stopped the clock at 14:56 to complete the club’s counters last Friday night.

Meanwhile, CAAC youngsters did the club proud with their performances at the opening Forth Valley League meeting of the season.

Eloise Pool was 3rd in the U11 girls shot put with a distance of 4.17m, while Teo McNally also displayed his throwing talent with 3rd in the U15 boys javelin (24.07m).

Belle Logan leaped 4.01m to take 3rd in the U15 girls long jump, Isla McGrath was third for the U15 girls 800m in a time of 2:30.1and Phoebe Wedderspoon was 3rd in the U15 girls 100m in 14.1 seconds.

There was also third place for the U13 girls 4x100m relay team as they crossed the line at Grangemouth in 1:01.8.

Elsewhere, Lucas Key continued to excel over 400m with a 3rd place finish in the U17 men’s event at the Scottish National Athletics League meeting.

His time of 51.75 seconds was just short of his recent U17 club record of 51.58, also set at Grangemouth.
