SIX club records have been broken by Corstorphine athletes – including one that had stood for 12 years.

DAISY KEY set two new benchmarks for Under-15 girls while competing at the Forth Valley League meeting at Grangemouth in June.

She ran a time of 13.2 seconds for the 75m hurdles, shaving a tenth off the previous best set in 2011, and clocked 26.9secs for the 200m, beating the record of 27.6secs from 2013.

It comes after Daisy took half a second off the 100m Under-15 girls club record last year.

KIRSTY MacAULAY also landed a double by breaking the Senior women’s records for the 800m and mile.

Kirsty, who was part of the squad that won gold at the Scottish Track Relay Championships in June, knocked almost 3 seconds off the 800m as she ran a time of 2mins 11.83secs on August 15. The previous record of 2mins 14.4secs was set by Caitlin Arnott in 2021.

Kirsty also blitzed the mile benchmark by 3 seconds in August, clocking 4mins 54.11secs, to continue her excellent performances over the summer.

In the Under-17 girls category, ALICE MOURAO (pictured) shattered the mile record at the Monument Mile Classic in Stirling on August 26.

Alice’s time of 5mins 10.32secs beat the two-year-oldprevious best of 5mins 19.64secs.

Finally, OLIVIA CLARKE demonstrated her all-round ability by setting a new Under-20 women’s record in the javelin.

The middle-distance specialist threw 12.18m at the CSSAL meeting in Kilmarnock in April, beating the old record of 11.57m set in 2013.
