NEARLY 60 athletes took part in CAAC’s Track and Field Championships on a sweltering, sun-kissed Saturday at Saughton.
Competitors in categories ranging from under-9s to Masters showed their versatility in events including the 60m, 100m, 600m, 1 mile, high jump, javelin and shot put.
Frame runners also participated for the first time by taking on the 100m, 400m, throw and long jump, with Finlay Menzies (pictured) showing off the ‘Superman’ long jump technique to perfection.
Ryan Kyle and Lisa Traill took the Senior men’s and women’s titles respectively at the fun-filled event, which culminated in a club picnic.
Around 12 crates and bags of food, drink and baby items were also donated by members and spectators to be handed to local foodbank Community One Stop Shop Broomhouse.
