THERE was a glut of CAAC medals at the Seven Hills of Edinburgh event in both individual and teams categories.
Ritchie Gardiner (pictured), who has earned a Scotland vest for the Snowdon International on July 15 following a string of impressive runs, won the gruelling 14-mile event in a time of 1hr 35mins 29secs.
Ritchie, Julian Barrable (6th) and Tom Ferrington (8th) also took team honours after negotiatingCastlehill, Corstorphine Hill, Craiglockhart Hill, Braid Hill, Blackford Hill, Arthur’s Seat and Calton Hill on June 18.
Ken Speirs (1hr 56mins 47secs) was top man in the M50s, with Iain Macleod finishing 3rd to secure a podium double for the club. Martin Caldwell took the prize in the M70 category.
KIRSTY MacAulay and Lewis Harrison both clocked PBs in the Scottish National Athletics League meeting at Grangemouth.
Kirsty ran the 800m in 2mins 16.37secs, while Lewis covered the same distance in 2mins 18.99secs at the event on June 18.
A TEAM of CAAC’s under-12 athletes competed in the SUPERteams final on June 24. Matthew Earl, Ruben Du Plessis, Imisi Awogbemi and Ella Harrison took part in 4×100 relays, 75m sprints, javelin and long jump at the fun event.
The youngsters finished 13th overall with an impressive 1,331pts at Scotstoun.
