We hope everyone had a great festive period and here’s hoping for better things in 2022! Please see below for updates on what is going on in the club.
Competition: The cross country season is now well underway with reports on our website The reports also link to the latest standings in the CAAC Cross Country Championships and the remaining fixtures for the cross country and the upcoming indoor season. Following some fine performances so far a huge congratulations go to Georgia Leadingham and Olivia Clarke on being selected to represent Scotland at the upcoming Celtic Nations and Home Countries XC International. Also well done to their coach David Arnott.
Coaching: We are delighted to say four of our Assistant Coaches are taking the next step on the qualification pathway. A huge thanks to Mel McDonald, Petra Cameron, Fran Snitjer and Jack Fullerton as this will make a big difference to our Junior coaching delivery and content. Meanwhile Kira Mourao has received her level 1 Track Officials qualification.
Vision Statement: A lot of thought and discussion has gone into creating a CAAC Vision Statement. We believe the statement below fits us very well as it covers the whole club (not just athletes) and covers all abilities (as everyone is different).
CAAC will strive to ensure our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and our community maximise their individual potential in athletics and their daily life.
We will ALL work towards OUR vision by creating a fun, safe, friendly, positive, inclusive and supportive environment.
Please let Harry know of any alternatives to consider, or suggest anything you want included by emailing corstorphinecto@gmail.com. Once we get our statement finalised, we can then work out how to achieve it!
Legal Status: We have now submitted an application to become a Scottish Charity Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). This process will take a few months to go through, and a members meeting will be called to give final approval.
Club Leaflet: Work is underway to create a club leaflet for promoting CAAC in schools and the wider community.
New Members: Welcome to our new members, a zoom call will be set soon to explain how things work and let you ask questions – please watch our social media platforms or you can sign up here and further details will be sent once the date is set.
