3 hundredths away at Loughborough Trials

Dermot Cummins in a fine vein of form was keen to capitalise on this with a PB. With the ink still dry on Dougie's fantastic new 5000m club record set in Bedford. There was also an opportunity to further rewrite the record books in close order.

Corstorphine Shines at Scotstoun

The sun shone and Corstorphine shone at Scotsoun today. Our hopes of staying up in Division 2 were ignited and exceeded as the team delivered a 2nd place performance. We marked out our second place early on and despite a last minute surge by all the chasing clubs finished 2nd by 10 points, with Kilbarchan way out in front.

CAACATRACK

CAAC made a solid start to their Men's League campaign at the first of 4 matches today at a sun-soaked Grangemouth.

With 10 teams in Division II this season competition was expected to be fierce and so it proved with CAAC seeing a half way lead in the match whittled away and eventually surpassed by 3 other teams to finish the day 4th.

Addison posts early season marker at Lothian Trials

That track season started with a bang at Meadowbank and the Lothian Trials. Craig Knowles showed a fine Winter's work has been done recording a early season 23s for 200m. Headline maker Anthony Addison finished first in the U13 800m recording 2m26s, a time which is only 4s outside the 17year old record of Steven O'Brien for the age group.

National Indoor 3000m Medal for Cummins

Fine performance from Dermot at the National Indoor 3000m yesterday taking bronze in 8:29:14 and missing out on silver by just 5 hundredths to Robert Russell. Fairly certain his time will be a club record (indoors anyway). Mickey Breen 9th in the same race in a good 9:10:09.

2011

So 2011 arrives in 12 hours, i know this is generally a mainstay of the coach-athlete confidentiality agreement however as we are all trying to help each other alongside a heathly appetite to outdo, out i thought i'd put mine out there.

My running aims for 2011 are simple and concise.

2010 10k and 5k rankings

Sometimes it's frustrating getting older or being a woman. No matter how hard you try you'll never beat the likes of a young lad in the prime of his life. Well now you can. Using some clever statistical trickery I have created a ranking of 10k and 5k times adjusted for age and sex, so now we can see what you're time would be if you were a male between  23 and 27.
