Monklands Half Marathon

Mike and I headed to Coatbridge today to run the Monklands Half Marathon, new one for me, Mike had ran this race before, many years ago. Course consists of 3 loops, one 3 mile loop and the two longer 5 mile loops. There are some nice enjoyable sections through Drumpellier Country Park (where the race started and finished), especially along the loch/lake. The course could best be described as undulating, not one for PB’s, but interesting none the less.

Long Course Handicap is Back

I've been waiting for just the right time to announce this.  To be honest I didn't really feel comfortable advertising a "spring" race in the rotten weather we'd been having up till now.  Trades Descriptions would have had a field day!  However, I saw people playing cricket on the Meadows the other day so that generally means that summer is round the corner and yesterday's long hours of sunshine and balmy highs of 15c confirmed it.

London Marathon 2013

After a week off running and as I prepare to ease back into training I figured I'd put up a short report on the London Marathon. I don't normally write race reports but I always encourage others to do so so figured I should follow my own advice and write a report about the race as nobody else has done so yet and maybe others will add their own comments to my report.

Balfron 10K

Gillian and nipped over to the bonny banks of Loch Lomond to take part in this years Balfron 10K.  The race have been rated highly in a number of running mags over the last few years as one of the UK top 10 races so thought it would worth checking out.

3.. 6.. 9 Minutes of time

As all the drama and excitement of last weekend's London marathon and the previous weekend's 12 Stage Road Relays dies down we at the management are already thinking about April 2014 and a fresh assault on Sutton Coldfield.  These two major events have underlined the upward trajectory of Corstorphine AAC and highlighted the strength in depth that I have been bleating on about for the past few months.

2013 London Marathon Preview & Betting Tips – Sunday 21st April 2013

While the London Marathon doesn’t compete with the CAAC5 in terms of prestige, it is still a great race that offers some excellent betting opportunities. It can also be a decent indicator of athletes who might run well at the CAAC5 in the future: this year’s form athlete, Bryan Clark, was second in the Tour of Fife last year. So read on for the latest betting tips and information to help you pick a winner here, and maybe spot some future victors for the big one at Turnhouse in June.
