Astonishing Scenes in Birmingham as CAAC Make it Lucky 13
The journey down to Birmingham started on Friday the 13th and at the 11th hour CAAC's 13th man, Adam Priestley, stepped up to the plate to fill in for the injured Dave Simpson and help the team home in a fantastic 13th place!
What a day. Our targets pre-race were to finish top 20 and get under 4hrs25mins and both were attacked, achieved and surpassed with gusto. Absolutely sterling efforts from all concerned with Moray and BC getting into the top 10 fastest runners on their particular legs and a storming opening long leg from Dougie Selman giving him 45th= fastest long leg on the day (394 ran).
Everyone put in a shift to make it a really successful trip and the buzz surrounding the whole event was so infectious that I hope everyone is just as keen to head south again this time next year! The bar has been set high, top 10 and sub 4:20 next year...
Full results can be seen here. Congratulations to Central who ran a solid race to finish 8th and to Shettleston who made it 3 Scottish Clubs in the top 14 after a nip and tuck battle over the last 3 legs with CAAC http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2012/nat1212.htm

I gave a very short unprepared speech at the post race meal but I'd again like to say well done to everyone involved for such a brilliant effort.
13th in the British 12 Stage Road Relay Championships is a fantastic achievement for the club and over the last year when we have produced some of our best ever team performances this is quite possibly the best in the club's history.
Superb stuff by all who ran and thanks to Tommy for fantastic team management and to Dave, Dave and the giant panda better known as Chris for superb support!

Cob, may be worth contacting the Council regarding the Panda's expedition to Birmingham. See the link below regarding the Pandas & Corstorphine promotion currently going on.

CAAC @ ERRA 12 Stage Road Relays. Sutton Park. 14th April'12 from Christopher O'Brien on Vimeo.
The first time CAAC has made the journey to this prestigious road race, joined by our new club mascot Andy Pandy. Tom Ferrington led close to the strongest team possible South to Sutton Park and the club was rewarded with a 13th place finish in 4h 22min 7s (noted the video finishing time is wrong!... my bad).

Just watched that again.. (kerry thinks im really boring) however just noted Moray doesn't appear running at all, in fact dodged the CAACcam entirely when i scanned the footage we took again. For the avoidance of doubt he was fast!!, looked strong and posted the fastest CAAC short leg at the ERRA 12 Stage Road Relays with his run - the comeback continues.

Scandalous scenes in Sutton Coldfield as Mozza fails to register on the official CAAC video. Maybe for the best mind you. I can always do without having to look at my fat legs on screen.
I may have lost 2 stone but as Tommy kindly pointed out the other day i'll never have skinny runners legs!

Scandalous that oldest member(of caac) in the team paid to be excluded in any coverage. He was concerned his 'flab' would undermine his great performance.
The money was used to pay for the drink at the Royal hotel, where more scandal could be revealled!
