Spring Handicap 2012
Ok, I know this is short notice but the annual spring handicap is planned for this Saturday 7th April. It's a two lap "just for fun" 6mile handicap race and a handsome trophy awaits the winner. Thankfully the handicapper is injured so can't retain it (or burst a blood vessel trying to make up the inevitably insurmountable gap to the rest of you!).
The plan is to meet at 9am at the Kirkgate car park on the Water of Leith path with the first runner leading it out at approximately 9.15am.
If you want to take part then please email me
with a recent 5km or 10km time (these will be scrutinised!)
There's a map of the course here and other info on the event here

I'm currently unable to run 5k without having to stop for a rest, what kind of handicap would I get?

True Stevie, however you are banned from taking part Nick as it's probably too much for your current state - I know you'll try and run it all and knacker yourself!!

Ok I'll do it. My most recent time for 10k is 41.25 but that was last year when I was younger and fitter. So be kind to an old man........ the 20.40 for the road relays is most probably better measure (that's the short leg by the way...).

Count me and Fiona in too!
My 10k time is about 44 mins and my 5k time was at the parkrun a few years ago 20:42 but course was short!!
Fiona's times are:
10k 44:48 (she's a bit faster now!!)
5k (parkrun a few weeks ago) 20:32
We are both planning on running there so will have already done about 6 miles - Fiona a few miles more!
Looking forward to a favourable handicap :)

You're in. I seem to recall a similar attempt to sway the handicapper last year...

Anyone not running there & likely to have space in their car for a lazy marathon runner?
