So the headline here is that me, Jan and Dave beat Murray Strain - get in!!

Ok so I started a quarter of an hour ahead of him but hey, why let facts get in the way of a good story.

Talking of handicaps, when exchanging start times/handicaps before the race, the reactions of my fellow club members were exactly in line with what you would expect - a raised quizzical eyebrow from the Janbert and a to-the-point "that's cheating" from Coach Dave.

Generous handicaps aside, this is a good course. Mostly through pine forest type trails, some mud but not too much and a couple of decent hills. I can't think that I've done a better trail race.

Oh and Dave obviously had one turkey twizzler too many as he could only manage 7k - awww.
