Calling all Scallywags!
The relay season just keeps on giving! We've had Comrie, The MacAndrews and the Hodgo already and the XC Relays are coming up later this month. So without further ado I give you the Allan Scally Road Relays which are on 29th October at 2pm.
This is a long running event with plenty of history and we've had 2 or 3 mens teams in the past. Over the last few years we've also had a women's team so hopefully they are up for the challenge again.
The race consists of 4 legs of something a little under 5miles for men and 3 legs of the same for women. There's no pre-entry for this one but please start letting me know if you would like to run....post here or email

If things stretch to a 3rd or 4th team and you need a filler I'll run, if for no other reason than to see how much slower I am this year.

I see there are 9 people on the list.
I guess I'd draw the odd (slow) man out straw, unless 3 other people want to join in and form a C team with me? Any takers?

Aye go on then. It's the inaugural F1 Indian Grand Prix this Sunday, which I was quite excited about but y'know what, I'm willing to demonstrate my commitment to running by not watching tv.

I'm a little confused (doesn't take much I know). Is this the Saturday or Sunday? I know 29th is Saturday but there seems to be mention of Sunday. If it is Sunday I could be there for just after 1pm, which is hopefully enough time if it starts at 2pm. If it is Saturday then I can't race as am working in Edinburgh until 1.30pm.

Ok, have just checked online and it is definitely the Saturday - sorry Tommy! I'm afraid I can't make it then but really want to.

woops, my mistake! could have been a pretty lonely run for me on the sunday!

Yes, Saturday indeed. You're not getting out of it now though Scott. Shame you can't make it Gordon - sprinting through in time to run last leg might be a stretch too far!

This is going to be a disaster, Pilky is the highest ranked officer of us all! It's the first world war all over again! Could be up to Jan to lead a coup!
Looking forward to this one guys, good to see three teams out.

A great opportunity for the clean dozen to show the dirty students that experience trumps youth- remember shock and awe (as opposed to shocking and awful)

Might I direct your attention to another thread involving a dirty dozen, Dave... http://caac.org.uk/2011-09-18/mens-nike-national-12-stage-road-relays-2012

I like your style Tommo. Having done the 12 stage I can highly recommend it. It is a fantastic event but unfortunately it clashes. Looks like a good squad would be the Scally dozen give or take a few. Enjoy.

Air Marshall - I like it! 11.45 sounds ideal.
