Looks like a good route and perfect warm up for the Comrie Relays the next day not to forget the CAAC Handicap!

There are trains from Edinburgh to Livingston South every half hour on a Saturday. Fast train (19mins from Waverly) on the hour, slightly slower (31mins) on the half hour. Off peak return a bargain at a fiver!
The race start is less than a 10min walk up Murieston Valley from Livi South.
You still have time to enter

You still have time to enter the Murieston Trail Race to be held in just under two weeks time on Saturday 10th September at Livingston Cricket Club, Dresselrigg Park, Murieston Valley, Livingston.
Course Information & Safety: The race is held on mixed terrain away from public roads, apart from the very first and last section which is on public footpath adjacent to Murieston Valley and Nevis Drive. “Kilometer” signs have been placed along the route, and red & white tape will guide you around the course. There will be Marshalls at all junctions, and at various key points along the route, but runners should take great care, especially at the boardwalk sections in the middle of the course.
The race will start with a lap of the cricket pitch before leaving through the main gate onto Murieston Valley. The next short section is on tarmac footpath round into Nevis Drive, before reaching the red shale path at Murieston Trail. Follow the trail past the first kilometre mark and on to the tarmac road up to the pond at Cambridge Park, then sharp left onto a bark path through the woods and around the pond before joining the steep tarmac path again down to the boardwalk. Take care at this section as the boardwalk can be very slippy, especially if wet. Follow the boardwalk then trail as it meanders along and over the Murieston Water before climbing steeply up then down some timber steps, until reaching the tarmac road leading to Murieston House.
After crossing the bridge, you will be directed right and on to the red shale path beside the water again then across another footbridge and into the park and past the playground. Another sharp left takes you up the hill at Robins Lane before turning left at the top then back onto the red shale at Murieston Trail, then back to the tarmac road and this time down the hill to retrace your steps back round to the steep grass hill leading back to the Trail opposite the cricket ground, then back round to Nevis Drive, Murieston Valley and back into the cricket ground for a final lap of the pitch.
At the Finish: On crossing the line you’ll be channelled in to the finishing funnel and directed toward the pavilion. Please keep moving forward as directed and keep in order until you reach the sign-out tables.
Showers and refreshments will be available inside the pavilion.
First Aiders will also be on hand within the grounds.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded in each of the main categories as detailed on the entry form, and there will also be spot prizes. The prize giving will be at 12 noon, kick starting the annual Livingston Cricket Club Family Gala Day and an afternoon of festivities, so please don’t rush away.
A full table of results will be on display at the finish, and once checked and confirmed, full results will be posted on the CAAC website (www.caac.org.uk), the LCC website (www.livingstoncricketclub.co.uk) and the scottishathletics website (www.scottishathletics.org.uk).
Those of you including a note of your e-mail address on the entry form will also receive a full set of results.
For those of you not able to take part, we would still appreciate if you could offer your services as a marshall or a race official/timekeeper etc.
Please contact John O'Hara if you are able to help in any way.

With very few pre-entries, it looks like most people intend to enter on the day (that'll teach me!), so having no idea how many of you intend to run, this is a plea for help.
I desperately need marshalls, and timekeepers/place judges.
Please form an orderly queue (or at least drop me post or an email)!!

Mike, Chris, Susan, you mentioned lifts last night. I'm happy to drive, and will start pick ups at 9:15, and we should hopefully be through at the Cricket club before 10:30.

Thanks John and great work organising the race. A really good addition to the Corstorphine AAC race calendar and we should aim to make it even more successful next year.
