Scratch Attack Latest
With Tommy promoting the autumn handicap i thought it was time for a wee scratch attack update. Three events remain in the series the first of which is the Great Scottish Run, Scotlands biggest half marathon. Next comes the handicap and remember in the event of a tie in the scratch attack the winner will be the person with the best record in the handicaps. The final race in the series is the Stirling 10km, now established as one of the fastest 10km races in Scotland so a good chance for a late summer pb before the hard work of the winter starts again!
It is certainly looking like Scott Williamson is in the drivers seat as he leads on 24 points. Not far behind though on 19 points are former winner Shaun Cavens and a man very much in form, Mike Anderson. Behind them comes a man used to the podium in recent weeks Grant Wilkie on 17 points and then first lady Kerry Porter on 16.
Scott's lead looks decisive but so did Dave Patton's lead last year at this stage! Scott will have to keep pushing right to the line as it is a formidable pair snapping at his heals. Mike clearly enjoying a rich run of form and Shaun who has been over the course before.
Hi Moray,
Corrie, myself and a few others went over to Coll at the weekend to run in the 10K on the island-Corrie was again amongst the prize winners as she was second female. Very well done to her, making a real habit of this type of thing!
As it’s a four hour train journey, overnight stop in Oban and a three hour ferry crossing to Coll, do we qualify for a well travelled bonus in the Scratch Attack?
Yours hopefully,
Shaun.
Of course Shaun, good effort to all. Nice place for a run i imagine.
Points will be duly added.
