Forfar 10K, 15-08-2010
Grant continued his fine vein of form and took the win at the Forfar 10K after running nip and tuck with BC for the best part of 7K of the race. The race doubling as a qualifier for Scottish Prison Service Team for an International meeting later this year in Cyprus, Bryan gave the selectors a no brainer with his fastest outing over the Forfar course.
Grant tagged onto BC after a fast start around 2K in, and they worked well at a higher pace than i to gain a good gap before the undulations started to test BC and Grant dug in to sneak a 5-10s gap through the 8K marker. The 9K marker was visible from some way off and on seeing it a solid last 1500m effort seen the gap widen to a solid winning margin. A gap which was similar back to my overwatch position clear in 3rd. Thankfully the team required only 3 to count as there were no other CAACthletes competing and thus scooped a fridge replenshing 1st team prize.
It was a good day for it and a nice course which i would recommend, water was definitely required at the halfway point. Taking the A92 back home we gave a nod to those running the Lomonds of Fife Hill Race, it looked to be glorious up there!
