Strathallan 5

After the Corstorphine Fair (and a Cheeseburger !!), Gillian and I headed up to Strathallan to take part in the Carnegie Harriers 5 Mile Road race.

It was a beautiful night, maybe a bit too hot for racing but what the hell.  The course is a two lapper starting in Strathallan (posh) school and also along quiet country roads in the surrounding area.  A pleasant evening was had along with some nice home baking (of course that's why I went !!!).

My achilles is starting to feel a bit stronger now so was able to put a bit more effort in and finished 31:47.  Gillian had a great tussle for the ladies title but managed to come out on top in a time of 32:02 a terrific run.  Dave Simpson also started the race but unfortunately was unable to finish.

Full marks for both racing and helping at the Fair ;]

Well done folks, really good times, well done Gillian on picking up the Silverware (or voucher, etc). 'Home Baking' Yum!, might consider this one next year.
